7.5.2018 England: JDR drivers achieve fantastic results at PF!

The team went to PF feeling confident following the success they achieved last month.

In IAME cadet, Alfie Briggs looked strong all weekend, and after qualifying 5th he had two good heats to put him on P4 for the final. He battled hard at the start to get into 2nd, though dropped back to 3rd and remained here, giving him another podium finish!

The Mini X30's had a great weekend too. Jack Cox set his personal best lap time around the circuit and is getting more confident each race. Lucas Ellingham had to charge hard from the back of the heats, in particular, going from last to 3rd in the first heat was excellent. He started 5th for the final and immediately worked his way to the front and pushed away with the leader. Despite having severe rib pain he was able to hang on for the long final and finish 2nd! Adding to his podium streak since joining the team.

Jack Dex raced himself in Senior X30 and was at the front all weekend. A good qualifying saw him finish 9th overall out of over 50 drivers. Two strong heat finishes of 4th and 5th gave him a grid position of 7th for the final. Jack had a good start and got into 5th and pushed hard setting fast lap times to catch the leading group. Though, unfortunately, on the last lap whilst making a move for 3rd he was hit which rolled the kart and ended his race. A shame after such a strong showing. Matt Grant made his return and didn't look out of place, making the A Final on a competitive grid and worked his way up to a fantastic 15th place!

This weekends' results reflect on the hard work that JDR have put into making the MS Kart and their drivers perform brilliantly and they still have much more to come. They will head to Kimbolton next for the annual East Anglian Trophy meeting and be challenging for more podiums again.
